Abstract:【Objective】 To explore the treatment outcomes of transnasal endoscopic adenoidectomy combined with tympanostomy tube insertion for treating pedia OSAHS and otitis media with effusion (OME). 【Methods】 Ninety-two children(132 ears) with OSAHS and OME were selected to receive transnasal endoscopic adenoidectomy combined with tympanostomy tube insertion performed simultaneously (Group A, n =52, 70 ears) or transnasal endoscopic adenoidectomy alone (Group B, n =40, 62 ears). 【Results】 The effective rates of Group A and Group B were 94.29% and 65.15%, respectively with significant difference between them (χ2=18.122, P <0.05). Average middle ear fluid duration was (5.34±1.35) d. And (16.63±5.57) d in Group B. There was a significant difference (t =16.408, P <0.05) between the two groups about average middle ear fluid duration. 【Conclusion】 Transnasal endoscopic adenoidectomy combined with tympanostomy tube insertion may be performed in treating pedia OSAHS and OME appears to shorten middle ear fluid time, improve hearing results.
