【Objective】 To discuss the operative techniques of endoscopic transsphenoidal surgery for resection of Rathke’s cyst. 【Methods】 From Dec.2004 to Dec.2010, 18 cases of Rathke’s cyst were treated by endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal operation. MR scan and endocrinological examinations were performed in all cases before operation. The content was removed and the wall was partly resected. 【Results】 No patients died during operation. All patients were followed up from 12 to 24 months with improved clinical symptoms. Recurrence was not found in MRI. 【Conclusion】 The endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal operation was minimally invasive and safe in treatment of Rathke’s cyst.
