Abstract:【Objective】 To explore the rate of emergency hemostasis, the rate of rebleeding and the clinical effects and side effects of both lauromacrogol injection and sodium morrhuate on portal hypertension in esophageal varies. 【Methods】 126 patients were randomly divided into two groups. The test group of 63 cases was treated with lauromacrogol injection and the control group of 63 cases was treated with 5% sodium morrhuat. The clinical effects and side effects of the two drugs were studied. 【Results】 No significant differences were found in terms of the rate of emergency hemostasis, the rate of rebleeding and clinical effects between the two groups. The occurrence rates of side effects in the group A were significantly lower than those in group B. 【Conclusion】 Lauromacrogol injection is a safe and effective hardener. It has similar clinical effects to sodium morrhuate, while it has less side effects than sodium morrhuate.
