Abstract:Objective To investigate the feasibility and safety of an improved method for indwelling ureteral stent placement during flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 60 patients who underwent flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy with indwelling ureteral stents from June 2021 to October 2023. Among them, thirty cases received traditional stent placement, while another 30 cases received modified stent placement under the improved flexible ureteroscope. The differences in operation time, stent position, postoperative pain score, and postoperative hematuria degree were analyzed between the two groups. Results The operation time of the improved stent placement method was significantly shorter than the traditional method, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). No significant differences were found between the two groups in stent position, postoperative hematuria degree, and postoperative pain score (P > 0.05).Conclusion The improved method for ureteral stent placement during flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy is feasible, safe, and reliable, worthy of clinical promotion.
