Abstract:Abstract: In pediatric patients, failure or taking too much time to intubate in a difficult airway can easily lead to oxygen desaturation. The pediatric Airtraq laryngoscope is a disposable tracheal intubation device. It was designed to provide a high quality view of the glottis without the need to align the oral, pharyngeal and tracheal axes. Airtraq laryngoscope has a wide range of applications in pediatric intubation. A number of reports suggested that use of the Airtraq laryngoscope should be superior to the Macintosh laryngoscope in children in routine airway management and/or increased risk for difficult intubation, and Airtraq should be superior to the other video laryngoscopes in some indicators. As for which is the best device, there is still far from conclusion, but the Airtraq is showing promising results in children’s airway management.
