Abstract:Abstract: Objective To investigate the related factors of inadequate bowl preparation in children and adolescents before colonoscopy, so as to provide a valuable reference for bowl preparation. Methods 128 children aged 4 to 17 years underwent colonoscopy from June 2013 to December 2017 were selected. According to the quality of bowel preparation, they were divided into inadequate bowel preparation group and adequate bowel preparation group. Clinical data of sex, age, intestinal basic diseases, the first defection time, total time of taking drugs, medication time, incomplete intake of preparation drugs were recorded. Related factors were analyzed by single factor and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results The incidence of inadequate bowel preparation was 35.16% (45/128). Single factor analysis showed that age, constipation, the first defection time, total time of taking drugs and incomplete intake of preparation drugs were risk factors for inadequate bowel preparation. Multivariate analysis showed that constipation, the first defection time more than one hour, and incomplete intake of preparation drugs were independent risk factors for inadequate bowel preparation. Conclusion Children and adolescents undergoing colonoscopy will have higher incidence of inadequate bowel preparation. Constipation, the first defection time more than one hour, and incomplete intake of preparation drugs are all important factors for inadequate bowel preparation.
