Abstract:Abstract: Objective To report our initial experience of retroperitoneal laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS) and explore its feasibility. Methods Between August 2013 and October 2016, 102 patients underwent retroperitoneal LESS (48 cases in renal cyst ablation, 35 cases in ureterolithotomy and 19 cases in simple nephrectomy). All procedures were performed using a multichannel single-site device, 30° extra-long laparoscope and a varying combination of standard and specialized laparsocopic instruments. The mean operative time of renal cyst surgery was (32.32 ± 11.46) min. The mean operative time of ureterolithotomy was (78.25 ± 24.66) min. The mean operative time of nephrectomy was (87.11 ± 32.24) min. Results All retroperitoneal LESS procedures were successfully completed without any complications occurred; no procedure was converted into standard laparoscopic or open surgery. Conclusion Retroperitoneal LESS for the treatment of kidney and ureter disease is safe and effective.
