Abstract:Objective? To investigate the application of electron bronchoscopy in severe tetanus complicated with pulmonary infection.?Methods?58 patients with severe tetanus complicated with pulmonary infection underwent bedside electronic bronchoscopy and bronchoalveolar lavage, then compare the blood gas analysis index, APACHE-Ⅱ scores and the CPIS changes before and after bronchoscopy procedure, and observe the intubation time.?Results? After bronchoscope sputum and bronchoalveolar lavage, all 58 patients’ symptoms were improved; after treatment, blood gas analysis index, APACHE-Ⅱ score and the CPIS were improved significantly (P < 0.05). ?Conclusion?Electron bronchoscopy is a safe and effective method in treatment of severe tetanus complicated with pulmonary infection.
