Abstract: Abstract: Objective To observe and compare the clinical effect of ultrasonic pneumatic lithotripsy and holmium laser in percutaneous nephrolithotomy for complex renal calculi. Methods A total of 138 patients with complex renal calculi were randomly divided into group A and B, 69 cases in each group. A group was treated with ultrasonic pneumatic lithotripsy system and B group was treated with holmium laser lithotripsy. The operation time, stone removal rate in I phase, postoperative hospital stay and complications rate were compared. Results There was no significant difference between the two groups in the rate of stone removal in I stage (P > 0.05). The operation time of the A group was shorter than that of the B group (P < 0.05), and the average length of hospital stay and the incidence of complications in A group was statistically significant lower than that in B group, respectively (P < 0.05). Conclusion Compared with holmium laser, ultrasonic pneumatic lithotripsy for the treatment of complex renal calculi, the operation time and postoperative hospital stay is shorter. It has high effectiveness and safety, and worth of clinical application.
