Abstract:【Objective】 To evaluate the long-term efficacy of endometrial polyps with the risks of recurrence or malignancy treated by Thermablate Endometrial Ablation System (ThermablateTMEASTM). 【Methods】 Forty-nine patients with symptomatic endometrial polyps with the risks of recurrence or malignancy were followed-up for a long-term period (5~8 yrs), and all of them accepted ThermablateTMEASTM between Jan. 2005 and Mar. 2007. 【Results】 After the operation, 39/40 patients with non-menopausal were effective, 1 of these patients relapsed. 9 cases with postmenopausal had no recurrence. The total effective rate was 97.9%, and the recurrence rate was 2.1%. All patients had no evidence of endometrial carcinoma. 【Conclusion】 Thermablate TMEASTM UBT has low recurrence rate and stable long-term efficacy for symptomatic endometrial polyps, especially for the patients with the risks of recurrence or malignancy, who had no requirement for reproductive. It's a good surgical selection for the treatment of endometrial polyps and the prevention of recurrence and malignancy.
