Abstract:【Objective】 To investigate the application of the endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) examination in the preoperative staging of gastric cancer under 7th edition UICC standard. 【Methods】 We retrospectively analyzed clinical data from 74 gastric cancer patients undergoing gastrectomy with D2 lymph-node in People's Hospital of Tongling City Gastrointestinal Surgery Department and compared the results of preoperative EUS examination and postoperative pathological findings. 【Results】 ① The overall accuracy of EUS of T staging was 86.4%. The accuracy of EUS in T1, T2-3 and T4 was 78.6% (11/14), (10/12;83.3%), T4 (43/48;89.6%), respectively. ② The overall accuracy of EUS of N staging was about 70.3%. The accuracy of EUS in N0, N1, N2, and N3 was 77.4% (24/29), 60% (9/15), 56.2% (9/16), and 71.4% (10/14), respectively. 【Conclusion】 The endoscopic ultrasound for TNM staging of gastric cancer is of greater clinical value under the new standard.
